Polyester Needle Felt vs. Other Filter Media

Different industrial filtration systems require different filter media.

Polyester needle felt is particularly suitable for low-to-medium temperature industrial dust collection, where good mechanical performance, abrasion resistance and cost efficiency are important.

For higher-temperature applications, alternative fibers such as aramid, PPS, P84 or fiberglass may be more suitable depending on the actual operating temperature and chemical environment.

This is important because standard polyester filter media should not be positioned as a universal high-temperature filter material. Polyester needle felt is generally used around the ≤130°C continuous range, while specialized fibers are selected for significantly higher temperatures.
